Pebble Dating Safety Guidelines

Meeting new people can be an adventure, but your safety is our top priority at Pebble. Whether you're exchanging messages or planning to meet in person, always trust your instincts and prioritize your safety. While we can't control the actions of others, we've put together some guidelines to help you navigate your Pebble experience safely.
Online Safety

Avoid Sharing Financial Information

It's important to never send money, especially through wire transfer, even if someone claims to be in a dire situation. Once money is sent, it's nearly impossible to reverse the transaction or track where it went. Protect yourself by refraining from sharing any financial details or personal information that could compromise your accounts. If anyone requests money from you, please report it to our team immediately.

Protect Your Privacy

Keep your personal information confidential, including your social security number, home or work address, and daily routine. If you're a parent, be mindful of the information you share about your children on your profile and in early conversations. Avoid disclosing details such as your children's names, school, or other identifying information. Your safety and privacy are paramount.

Stay within the Pebble Platform

For your safety, we encourage you to keep your conversations on the Pebble platform as much as possible. Our Safe Message Filters help maintain a secure environment, so be cautious if someone tries to move the conversation to external messaging apps or platforms too quickly.

Exercise Caution with Long-Distance Relationships

Be cautious of individuals claiming to be from your country but are currently stranded elsewhere, especially if they request financial assistance to return home. Additionally, be wary of anyone unwilling to meet in person or have a phone/video call, as they may not be who they claim to be. Trust your instincts and report any suspicious behavior to us.

Report Suspicious Behavior

If you encounter any suspicious or offensive behavior, don't hesitate to report it to us. This includes requests for money, harassment, underage users, fraudulent profiles, or any other behavior that violates our terms. Your reports help us maintain a safe and welcoming community for all users.

Account Security

Choose a strong password and avoid logging into your Pebble account from public or shared computers. Remember, Pebble will never ask for your username and password via email. If you receive any such requests, please report them immediately. Additionally, if you use your phone number to log in, refrain from sharing your SMS code with anyone.

Meet in Public Places

For your safety, always meet in populated, public locations for the first few times. Avoid private residences or secluded areas until you feel comfortable with the person. If your date suggests a private setting and you're not comfortable, politely decline or end the date.

Inform Others of Your Plans

Let a friend or family member know about your plans, including where and when you'll be meeting your date. Keep your phone charged and with you at all times for added security.

Control Your Transportation

Ensure you have control over your transportation to and from the date. If you're driving yourself, consider having a backup plan such as a ride-share app or a trusted friend who can pick you up if needed.

Know Your Limits

Be mindful of the effects of alcohol and drugs on your judgment and alertness. If your date pressures you to consume substances beyond your comfort level, assert your boundaries and consider ending the date.

Stay Vigilant

Keep an eye on your drinks and personal belongings at all times. Only accept drinks from sources you trust, and don't leave them unattended. If you feel uncomfortable at any point during the date, trust your instincts and take appropriate action.

Seek Help if Needed

Ending the date early is perfectly acceptable if you feel uncomfortable or unsafe. Trust your intuition, and don't hesitate to seek assistance from bartenders, servers, or other trusted individuals if necessary.
